The Procedure

Since the mommy makeover is comprised of multiple procedures, and every mommy makeover is different for each patient’s needs, the actual surgeries and surgery lengths vary. Normally, the Mommy Makeover surgery is performed in either one or two surgeries, with each individual surgery ranging in from 2 to 6 hours. In regards to the breast augmentation portion of a mommy makeover the are a variety of factors that affect the procedure. Placement of the implant is usually centered on the nipple-areola. What To Expect After Surgery

Expectations after surgery also vary depending on the procedures performed. Closely monitor how you feel post-op, especially immediately following surgery. Some varying degrees of pain are to be expected, however, if experiencing shortness of breath, pains deep in your chest, an irregular heart beat or persistent calf pain contact your physician, go to your local emergency room and/ or Dr. Weinstein immediately. Walking after surgery even a limited amount is helpful to prevent blood vessel clots in the legs that could travel to the chest. Using Tylenol for pain, resting and maintaining garments in place help the healing process. Eating healthy such as fresh vegetables and fruit are helpful toward your quick recovery. To avoid any complications, it is extremely important that you strictly follow Dr. Weinstein’s post-surgical instructions and be careful!

Resumption of Physical Activities

Depending on the procedures performed bed restriction can vary, mild activity may be restricted from 1 to 2 weeks, and it can take anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks for a full recovery and the ability to return to strenuous activities such as sports.
