Education and Training

New Jersey Plastic Surgeon, Larry Weinstein, M.D., F.A.C.S., received surgical training at University Hospital, Newark, New Jersey and Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, New Jersey. He received specialized training in Oncologic Surgery and Breast Reconstruction at Sloan Kettering Memorial (Cornell University) in New York. At the University of Pittsburgh he did award winning research on tissue expansion. During his Plastic Surgery training at the State University of New York (Brooklyn) he received Awards for his research on Melanoma, Breast Cancer Tissue Expansion Reconstruction and deleterious effects of smoking on flaps. He was involved in the first team to use tissue expanders for Breast Reconstruction at Memorial Hospital in New York, NY. He is one of the New York Metro area’s FDA Breast Implant investigators of Silicone (gel) Breast Implants.

Dr. Weinstein has presented to other Plastic Surgeons his technique of Nipple Reconstruction, Nose Reconstruction, Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck), Breast Reduction, Breast Augmentation, and Facelift. Board certified Plastic Surgeon Larry Weinstein, MD FACS had one of the largest contribution of patients to the study of Tumescent versus Ultrasonic Liposuction (Liposculpture), with one of the lowest incidence of even minor complications. He is an innovator with the use of new dissolvable suture material in the repair of cleft lip and cleft nose.
